Activities
The Adhesion Society of Japan has its headquarters in Osaka. Kansai, Kanto, Chubu, Tohoku, and West branches are all open. The following are some of our activities.
- Annual meetings
Every year in June, annual meetings are held for two days. Members present and discuss their research findings. There are also special presentations, invited talks, and award lectures.
- Publications in the Adhesion Society of Japan Journal
The Adhesion Society of Japan’s Journal has been published monthly since 1965. It covers a wide range of adhesion science and engineering topics. In Japan and around the world, the journal has a solid reputation.
- Publications in the Adhesion Technology, Japan
The Adhesion Technology, Japan was established in 1981. It used to be published biannually. Since 1991, the journal has been published quarterly. It covers a wide range of adhesive-related technologies. As a technological journal for application, the journal is well received by a wide range of audiences.

The headquarter, branches, and each division organize a number of lectures, site visits, and seminars.
- Awards
The Award of The Adhesion Society of Japan
The award is given to a scientist or engineer who has contributed significantly to adhesion science and technology. Nominees must have been a member of the society for at least ten years to be considered.
The Technological Development Award of the Adhesion Society of Japan
The award is given to an engineer who has made technological advances in adhesion or the development of novel adhesives. Nominees should be regular members of the society.
The Science Award of the Adhesion Society of Japan
The award is given to a scientist who has made significant contributions to adhesion research. Nominees should be regular members of the society.
The Encouragement Award of the Adhesion Society of Japan
The prize is given to a young scientist or engineer who has made a significant contribution to the field of adhesion. Nominees must be active members of the society and under the age of 35.
The Excellent Achievement Award of the Adhesion Society of Japan is given to a scientist or engineer who has made a significant contribution to adhesion research, either in basic science or in application. Nominees must be active members of the society and under the age of 60.
The Outstanding Paper Award of the Adhesion Society of Japan is given to researchers who have published a noteworthy paper in The Adhesion Society of Japan Journal. - International Exchange Committee
International interaction committee-Organizing international conferences to bring together international scientists and engineers from universities, industries, and research institutes.
-Assisting in the organization of invited lectures by international scientists and engineers.
-Announcing international conferences, encouraging participants to attend, and assisting students in attending and presenting at international conferences.
- Activities of research groups
There are four research groups, including the Research Group of Science on Adhesive Interface, the Research Group of Next Generation Adhesive Materials, the Research Group of Structural and Precise Adhesion, and the Research Group of Pressure-Sensitive Adhesive.
